I’m into organic and natural foods and products but would like more than they have at my local grocery stores and there aren’t many whole food or natural stores nearby. (products: seventh generation, diapers, body products, cleaners, clothing, food)

Is eating organic and/or vegetarian better for you than just eating normal homecooked meals?

I come from a family of 6 and i’m the oldest of 4 siblings at age 16. We’ve always eaten healthy for as long as i can remember, VERY limited fast food….like 4 times per year. We’ve never been big on fats/oils (unless it’s olive oil) and we eat veggies and what-not with every meal. It’s always homecooked and no one in the family is even close to obese. Well, my mom read “Fast Food Nation” and is purely convinved that if we dont organic/vegan, we’re all going to die early and horrible deaths. She scared ym 8-yr-old brother into being a vegan and he hasn’t eaten meat since early Nov. So now we stock up on MorningStar…no more meat unless dad BBQ’s. Everything is organic and tofu…my mom figured if my bro is vegan, we all should be. Is it really so much better this way, that we’re only eating organic/vegan? Based on what i’ve described, is there anything wrong with the way we were eating at first? Thanks so much!

Bored with food; What do you eat as a vegetarian?

I’ve been a vegetarian for about a year now and I feel a lot better.I do understand the whole “animal rights” thing, but that’s not what made me become a vegetarian (Although, I do keep it in mind). I’ve always naturally disliked meat, but I do love milk, so I go for the organic milk. It’s more expensive, but I suppose it’s worth it, I’d rather eat anything organic to be honest. Anyways, I guess I’m feeling a bit bored with my diet and I just want to know what kind of dishes you make, add prices in too, if you’d like. Also, where do you shop for your food? There’s a Whole Foods and a Rainbow near my house, but they’re both expensive. I usually go to Kroger, they’re not AS expensive, but they have less variety. So if any of you vegetarians know of a good place to shop at online or anything like that let me know, any good recipes or anything like that, because I have a few things that I buy every week, and I just need a little change. Thanks!

I live in Mississippi and we are like the most unhealthy people on the planet! We have barley any health stores to buy organic or soy foods. I’m new at being a Vegan and it’s super hard when everything around you is fried chicken and full of milk. Are there any places like maybe Target or Walmart that sell food for Vegans. If so, which products?

Also should I stop eating meat? I hear there is a lot of stuff that goes into it. But then are fish and eggs still okay to eat? I drink protein shakes too btw, so I’m not so much worried about protein, just the lack of vitamins.

I don’t trust genetically modified food or any other foods not marked organic anymore. So, I decided that I will go on an organic diet, but since GMOs make up 90% of our foods, organics have less market share and are more expensive. So what are some tips for eating Organic, on a Budget?
My weekly budget is around $80 to $150. I can’t plant anything as I don’t have a yard.
Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

Our family has 8 people – many are children. I am trying to ’slowly’ convert them over to more meatless recipes and organic foods, but my smallest ones are SOOO picky. I need more kid-approved recipes and all of the ones I’ve seen online contain tons of beans, zucchini, eggplant and the such – my 6 year old and 3 year old won’t have a thing to do with those! HELP!
