I am doing a speech on the benefits of eating organic and looking for credible web sources that explain the benefits of eating organic. I am covering the benefits to the environment, health, and animals (better quality of life). Does anyone know good websites?
Thanks!

Why is organic food so expensive?

Posted on timeMay 16th, 2010 by userpcgumban    flag(6) Comments

Freak Angel asked:

I love organic food and often feel pretty good after eating it but why is it so damned expensive? Buying lunch today rang up a price tag of $26. All I had was one sandwich (black forest ham and cheddar), a salmon salad, granola bar and a juice.

I would think there would be some way to bring the prices down. I really doubt it costs that much more to produce organic food rather than the other stuff. Also, the stores usually carry locally grown and produced items which would save on shipping I would think.

I’ve heard that if more people buy organic the prices will drop but how do they expect that to happen when it’s almost too much to afford?

Any insight and/or ideas??

If you eat a organic vegan diet?

Mountian_Baby asked:

where do you shop for you foods? I’ve seen some things at wal-mart and other stores, but my Dad has to go on an organic vegan diet, and they live in the middle fo nowhere. We are 80 miles from Wal-mart, K-mart, Smiths etc… So they will have to buy in bulk and can or freeze items.

Are there any good online sites where they can buy fresh or even just dry goods? Please share any and all tips and even a few recipes if you would like.

Thank you so much, all Good input is greatly appreciated.

I heard somewhere that it is better for you, but I’ve also heard that its not THAT much better and is more a waste of your money.

Thanks. :)

Organic eating?

Posted on timeJanuary 13th, 2010 by userpcgumban    flag(5) Comments

??Nick J is off the chain?? asked:

I’ve decided to start eating organic as much as possible and also only eat seafood and pultry, no red meats. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and over this past weekend I finally had my mom buy me some organic food at the grocery store. I was really surprised at them tasting almost exactly the same. So, I’ve decided to go organic. Anyway here’s my question… can you buy organic chicken and sea food (the stores I have around my house are Price Chopper and Hannaford… that’s about it). If not, I know I can get chicken from Natural Acres, but chicken alone will get boring.
If you’re going to tell me not to do it or just say yuck, shut up because I’m not interested in your opinion. You eat however you want, I’m sick of putting a whole punch of chemicals and things not necissary into my body. Not trying to have attitude, but seriously I’m not asking for opinions.

I would really like to buy organic foods in bulk. I know there are allot of stores that sell items in bulk, but not if they sell organic food items. Does anyone know if there is a store that specifically sells organic?
