Raw food diet for GSD?

wilsonsiberians asked:

I am thinking of converting my GSD to a raw food diet. Earlier in his life he was on a raw food diet consisting of free range or organic meats and vegetables and raw bones and necks. He has since been on Innova dry dog food. I know Innova is a great food, but is hard to find around here (I can only get it online) so I am toying with the idea of converting him. I am not looking for a raw foods supplier, rather I would like to prepare the meals myself with foods I can get at the grocery store. I was wondering if anyone out there does this and how much of what meats/vegetables/starches you feed per day. Raja is a healthy, fit and muscular 85-90 lb. 6 year old.

online resources for this brand?

yukidomari asked:

So, we usually feed our puppy raw. But as this is my last semester with finals coming up, I find that I don’t have as much time to make her meals for her.

When I can’t find the time, we feed her this great food she loves, called Nature’s Variety. We feed her the raw frozen line.

You can go onto the site at naturesvariety.com and use their store locator to find stores that carry their items.

However, the places listed on there near me only carry some of the varieties of the frozen raw – specifically only the organic chicken and the beef formula.

Does anyone know if any online sources sell the other varieties (rabbit, venison) that ship overnight (since it’s a frozen item?)

I’ve already checked with dogs.com and a bunch of other sites..

What’s best dog food to feed?

????? adopt from a shelter asked:

I recently adopted a lhasa apso/mini schnauzer/dachshund mix from the local shelter. They gave me a sample bag of Science Diet Small Bites, enough to last him a couple of weeks. From what I’ve read online, Science Diet is a horrible brand filled with fillers. I’m looking to replace his current diet with a higher quality, holistic and organic brand. What brand would be best? Thanks in advance!! ;]

All those organic foods are too excpensive.I already have bills to pay and paying tons of money for holistic and organic food is just too much. What are some cheap but good quality and easy to find foods?
